IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
This church was opened for public worship in 1714 on the San Biagio hillock.
In 1840 it was used for the first time for burials. It was seriously damaged by the 1980 earthquake, but was later rebuilt. Its façade remained intact; the central and lateral doors of carved stone are also the original ones.
The church contains a 17th-century statue of San Vito (St. Vitus) and one of the Immaculate Conception dating back to 1730, and in addition a very beautiful wooden baroque altar.
Furthermore, since 2002, it acquired a permanent creche scene vai a PRESEPE DELL'IMMACOLATA, having as background Calitri’s streets as they appeared prior to the 1980 earthquake.
